HCP staff have for years focused on emotional support for young adults, being purposeful in peer-to-peer conversations to redirect behavioral changes. Our staff has now earned their certifications as Mental Health First Aiders. Mental Health First Aid is a course that teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. The training gave the HCP staff the skills to reach out and provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis. We celebrate the added competencies to our staff and our ability to assist in the emotional support of the community.
